I made DOCUMENT settings, then I chose a label type by name, and the software talked to the printer. But in Word, I didn't have to make printer settings. It is useful to do testing by printing to a PDF file so as not to waste labels or paper. If not, find a similar label and adjust the dimensions using File > New > Labels > Format. lates.html so download them and find the appropriate label. A few minutes on the Herma website showed that the Herma 4090 continuous roll labels 100mm x 50 mm seem very similar albeit they appear to be placed on the roll with their short edge along the length of the roll, whereas I think the Dymo labels are placed placed on the roll with their long edge along the length of the roll. Writer has templates for some Herma labels. You will need to add your data and fields to the page.Īvery R5015 100mm x 54mm continuous appears to be the equivalent but AOO does not have a template for it. I don't have a Dymo printer to check - you may need to swap the landscape to portrait. dymo 1 has just 1 page, dymo 5 has 5 pages. They have a page size of 101.6mm (4") x 54mm (2 1/8") and are set to landscape because it seems that the Dymo printer prints in landscape. It may help to create a simple document and experiment with the settings similar to above. Writer will then pass the correct paper size across to the printer. My advice to DaveCarusoMusic is to make sure that the Page size specified in the document is the same as the paper size loaded in the printer. Properties: Changes the printer settings of your operating system for the current document.Įnsure that the Landscape or Portrait layout option set in the printer properties dialogue box matches the page format that you set by choosing Format - Page. Location: Displays the port for the selected printer.Ĭomments: Displays additional information for the printer. Type: Displays the type of printer that you selected. Status: Describes the current status of the selected printer. To change the default printer, select a printer name from the list. Name: Lists the installed printers on your operating system. Refer to the on-line help for your operating system for instructions on how to install and setup a default printer. If the list is empty, you need to install a default printer for your operating system. Printer: Lists the information that applies to the selected printer. But if I click "OK" to exit the "Document Properties," the setting will revert back to "30252 Address." That format prints incorrectly, yet I can't make the 30323 setting stay put. With that OTT document loaded in OOW, I choose File / Print.įrom that "Dymo Labelwriter 450 Document Properties" dialog box, I can choose the Dymo Labelwriter 450 printer and then choose "Properties." Once in "Properties," I can choose "Advanced." Under Advanced, I see that the "Paper Size" is set to "30252 Address." (This is not my label setting.) I can change it to "30323 Shipping" and click "OK" one time, returning me to "Dymo Labelwriter Document Properties." If I go back into "Advanced," my setting will be retained. The document was created in Word and converted to an OTT file. In OOW, I have a template document for printing a label. In Windows 10, under Devices and Printers, I configured my Dymo Labelwriter 450 "Printer Preferences" to use "Paper Size" = "30323 Shipping." This setting works (and prints correctly) in other programs, but not in OOW.
